The Museum of Modern Art (MAMM) is the ideal place to fire up your senses with modern and contemporary exhibits by nationally and internationally renowned artists.
The museum has four areas where you can appraise artistic offerings to their fullest: see, hear, smell and touch what art is all about.
Among the collections that can be found at the MAMM, 233 of them are by renowned artist Debora Restrepo, which have all been declared Cultural Patrimony of National Order in 2004. There are also more than 3,000 works by the Maestro Hernando Tejada and other admirable works by the likes of Beatriz Gonzalez, Manuel Hernandez, Rodrigo Callejas and Patricia Bravo.
The MAMM is home to a collection of 1,339 works of contemporary and modern art.
The MAMM possesses a collection of contemporary and modern art of more than 1,339 items whose four exhibition halls have on display various offerings: movies are projected in the “Sala de Fundiciones”; the “Sala de Proyectos Especiales” (“Special Projects Room”) is an artistic laboratory and, finally, the MAMM has what is called “Salas Norte y Sur” (“North and South Rooms”).
Besides the art exhibits, visitors can also participate in different cultural activities such as creative workshops, classes, conferences, symposia and presentations.
The MAMM offers guided tours in order to make your visit there as enjoyable as possible.
For 30 years, the MAMM was located in a traditional neighborhood called Carlos E. Restrepo. In 2009, however, the museum made moves to broaden its appeal and attract even more lovers of modern art in the city so it reestablished itself in the section known as Ciudad del Rio, which is one of the axis points of development in the city.
