Take a trip through traditional Antioquia

Piedra del Peñol, Oriente

Admire el Peñol, an enormous monolith with 700 steps that take you to a breathtaking view. 

The east of Antioquia doesn’t cease to amaze you with some of the biggest reservoirs in South America that are found in Guatapé and El Peñol.  Here, you can partake in different water sports such as canoeing and waterskiing.

El Peñol has one of the landmark rock formations that, for its enormous size—is climbed by adventurous tourists time and time again.

Get to know the traditional streets of Guatape, such as Calle de Recuerdo, and the houses that are considered the most beautiful in the country.

Natural attractions

Get an eyeful of the Piedra del Marial, a religious pilgrimage where hundreds of people go every day to pray and give thanks.

This is a wonderful place where the visitor is always captivated by the churches, houses, foliage and, especially, the warmth and welcoming nature of the townspeople.
