How to Get to Medellín?
Medellín is one of the cities in Colombia with the most air connections, both domestic and international. In fact, more than 40 daily flights connect Medellín with Bogotá, the country’s capital.
The city has two airports: Enrique Olaya Herrera, which mainly operates domestic and regional flights, and José María Córdova, the international airport, located in Rionegro, 35 kilometers from the city.
Recently, thanks to the construction of the Túnel de Oriente—tunnel that connects eastern Antioquia to Medellín—a 25-minute drive will take visitors through the mountainous landscape of the region to a city that welcomes them with a humid subtropical climate, considered one of the most pleasant in the country and characterized for being neither too hot nor too cold, with an average temperature between 16 °C and 26 °C (61 °F and 79 °F).
