If creative tourism is one that promotes participation in interactive activities through art. It seeks to discover and learn about the destination that is visited. It is easy to deduce why Medellin is considered a creative tourist destination because, in many of its tourist sites and plans, the imagination and the connection with the roots and the environment are opening a universe of truly genuine experiences.

One of the attractions that travelers who come to our country enjoy the most is the diversity of colors, sensations, and flavors that can be found here in the tropics and that can be enjoyed, for example, through an exotic fruit tour in a local market.

Visit the Silleteras farms of Santa Elena

The Silleteras Farms are a living representation of one of the most important celebrations in our region: the Silleteros Parade of the Flower Fair. There, peasants from the village of Santa Elena hang a type of wooden chairs behind them with handles with different types of flowers, mostly grown on their own farms.

In addition, in a visit to the Silleteras Farms, you can learn not only to build your own saddle but also to enjoy colorful gardens full of flowers and medicinal plants, folkloric samples of the region, and delicious mountain cuisine.

Graffitour of Commune 13

The one-and-a-half-hour tour of the Graffitour of Commune 13 is a visual experience through the murals of mostly local artists, who have portrayed their testimony of resilience through art, but also dance, taekwondo, and hip hop.

Commune 13 of Medellín also has the first public escalators in the country, which lead to a viewpoint with a fascinating view from where the contrasts of the city can be appreciated; with its mountains, buildings and colors.

Comuna 13

If one of the most important characteristics of creativity is the ability to solve problems, in Medellín’s DNA lives the resilience of a city that has managed to overcome adversity and feel proud of the transformation witnessed by its walls full of graffiti, its silleteras farms that are the memory of a tradition with more than 60 years, or its gardens that have grown in the middle of a garbage dump.
